Edward P Hussar, 88 of Fayette City, PA, passed away Monday, August 20, 2018 in Mon Valley Hospital.
He was born June 25, 1930 in Monessen, PA, son of Frank Hussar Sr. and Catherine Dutka Hussar.
Ed was a veteran of the US Navy during the Korean War and a Life member of both the VFW and American Legion. He graduated with the Monessen Class of 1948 and upon his return from the Navy he went to work for Wheeling- Pittsburgh Steel, Allenport Plant retiring in 1991 with 37 years of service as the Foreman of the Anneal Department. His daily stop was at the Pitt Stop in Fayette City where he had many friends and is owned by his Nephew Frank & wife Vickie Prokopovich. He was known by many as Uncle Ed.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Hussar Weible and her family; nephew & best friend Frank Prokopovich & wife Vickie of Fayette City and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Adell Nichols Hussar,six brothers, John I, George, Basil, John II, Michael and Frank, Jr.; seven sisters, Mary Trembush, Sue Chunko, Ann Hussar,sister, Helen Magetz, Margaret Kiski, Ann Regal and Catherine Prokopovich.
Friends will be received Thursday, August 23, 2018 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm in the Eley-McCrory Funeral Home, Fayette City, PA. www.eleymccroryfuneralhome.com
Prayers of Transfer will be held Friday August 24, 2018 at 9:30 am followed by a funeral mass at 10:00 am in Epiphany of Our Lord Church, Monessen with Rev. Fr. Michael Crookston as celebrant.
Interment will follow with Military Honors accorded by Hopwood Amvets Post # 103 in the Belle Vernon Cemetery, Belle Vernon, PA 15012.
Members of Belle Vernon American Legion Post # 65 will conduct services Thursday at 7 pm in the funeral home.
