Sarah Hamer

Sarah Hamer, 91, entered into eternal rest on November 3, 2017, at the Frey Village Nursing Home, Middletown, Pennsylvania, after an extended illness. Formerly from Washington Township (Fairhope), she lived the past eight years in Middletown, Pennsylvania. Sarah was a homemaker, wife, and mother who enjoyed socializing with friends and family. She also liked dancing and had a special affection for dogs. She was married for almost 53 years to John Hamer, who died in 1998. Sarah’s remaining family members are sons James Hamer, and his wife, Amy, of South Park, son, Bruce Hamer, and his wife, Georgina, of Middletown, grandson James Hamer, and his wife, Tabitha, of Charleroi, Ryan Hamer and his wife, Jessica, of Middletown, and great-grandchildren, A. J. and Alexis Hamer, of Charleroi. She also has one remaining sister, Mary Dombrowsky of New Eagle, and one brother, James Levy, and his wife, Frances, of Arnold City as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive visitors at the Eley-McCrory Funeral Home, Fayette City, on Saturday, November 11, 2017, beginning at 10:00 am, followed by a memorial service and celebration of life at 11:30 am. Burial will be in the Belle Vernon Cemetery. In lieu of any flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the Hospice of Central Pennsylvania, 1320 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
