Celina R (Elwell) Gardner

Celina R Gardner, 90 of Gillespie, Fayette City, PA, passed away peacefully Thursday, November 12, 2015 at her daughter Jeannie's house surrounded by her loving family.

She was born April 17, 1925 in Lincoln Place, Pittsburgh, PA, daughter of the late Joseph Elwell and the late Celina Hess Elwell.

She was a member of Little Redstone Methodist Church, Fayette City, Pa..

She is survived her children, son, Joseph Gardner and wife Cindy of Perryopolis, Pa., daughter, Jackie Gishnock and husband Ed of Fayette City, Pa., son, David Gardner and wife Terri of Belle Vernon, Pa. daughter, Jeannie Chaybin and husband Dave of Belle Vernon,Pa.; 11 grandchildren, Dawn Horne, Joseph (Jennifer) Gardner, Jenna Gardner, Marcy (Tom) McCahill, Lesley (Dave) Livingstone, Justin (Lisa) Gardner, Jason Gardner, Megan (Adam) Zysk, Rachael (Brian) Anderson, Jessica (Colby) Bilski and Jimmy (Kayla) Chaybin; 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Dale Elwell of Layton, Pa. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John (Jack) Gardner on February 11, 2014; three brothers, Joseph, James and thomas Elwell; four sisters, Ann Reconnu, Dorothy Daumit, Betty Brumley and Pat Thorp.

Friends will be received Saturday, November 14, 2015 and Sunday, Nov 15, 2015 from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 pm in the Eley-McCrory Funeral Home,Inc., 334 Main St., Fayette City, PA. 724-326-5621, www.eleymccroryfuneralhome.com. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 16, 2015 at 10:00 am in the funeral home with Pastor Robert Robenstein officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Washington Cemetery, Perryopolis, PA.
