Delphine (Michael) Nalvanko

Delphine  Nalevanko, 87 of Arnold City, Belle Vernon, PA, passed away Thursday, August 10, 2023 in Country Care Manor surrounded by her family.

She was born February 7, 1936 in Perryopolis, Pa. a daughter of Marie Florence Cimini Michael.

Delphine resided with her aunt Gina up until her marriage to Robert.  She was a graduate of Usuline College with a degree in Art.  She taught Art class at Monessen High School and later was a floral designer at Belle Vernon Food Land.  She was gifted artist and proudly displayed her paintings in her home.  She married the love of her life Robert, Sr.on June 7, 1962.  Her happiest time of life was when her son was born and they had a very special bond.  She loved being a stay at home mom after he was born.  She will be remembered for her elaborate holiday dinners and her homemade spaghetti dinners on Sunday's with her famous sauce.  Her strawberry cheesecake was what she was known for along with her exotic pastries. She was very proud of her granddaughter Mallie, they would share time drawing, baking and planting flowers.  Every summer her yard was filled with beautiful flowers, not letting a weed get ahead of her.   She loved to can along with her husband who planted a big garden and shared with all of the neighbors.  Her life is now a celebration of cherished memories.  The family extends heartfelt thanks to Luann,Carol,Amy,Chelsea,Lauren Danielle Brandy and Kay for their compassionate care while she was at Country Care Manor.  Also thanks to OSPTA Hospice for their care and support.   

She is survived by  her husband of 61 years, Robert Nalevanko, Sr. son, Robert Nalevanko, Jr. and wife Monica, whom she loved sharing a diet coke with, granddaughter, Mallie Nalevanko who filled her heart with joy, and Thomas McCarthy, and loving niece, Connie Cox.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Marie Florence Michael; aunt Gina Cimini and two uncles Carl and Ivan Cimini.

Friends will be received Sunday, August 13, 2023 from 3 to 7 pm in the Eley-McCrory Funeral Home, Fayette City, PA. www.eleymccroryfuneralhome.com

Blessing service will be held at Monday, August 14, 2023 at 10:00 am in the funeral home with Fr. Michael Crookston officiating.

Interment will follow in the Belle Vernon Cemetery, Belle Vernon, PA.
