Donald R Jones

Donald R Jones, 91 of Fairhope, Belle Vernon, PA, passed away Monday, August 24, 2020 in his residence surrounded by his family.

He was born August 20, 1929 in Fayette City, PA, son of Willard Jones  and Jane Lavinia Lindey Jones.  

He was a member of  Marion Presbyterian Church, Fairhope, Belle Vernon, Pa. and the Boy Scouts of America  He was a US Navy veteran of the Korean War.  He was an avid golfer and had 2 sanctioned holes in one to his credit.

He is survived by three children, Richard V Jones and wife Viola of Fairhope, Belle Vernon, son, Rev. Donald R Jones, Jr. and wife Patricia of Punxsutawney, Pa. , daughter, Lily . Jones Farquhar and companion Leonard Barone of Allenport, Pa.; brother, Willard  R. Jones of Fayette City, Pa.; granddaughter, Becky Lynn, grandson, Donald R Jones, III, granddaughter, Kimberly Lilley, granddaughter, Lindsay Keene, granddaughter, Jocelyn Blews, grandson, Lonnie R. Farquhar, granddaughter, Jessica Knopp and 17 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Elva Jones on July 8, 2002; granddaughter, Jenna Jones; sister Eileen Godissart and brother Robert Jones.

Friends will be received Wednesday, August 26, 2020 from 4 to 8 pm in the Eley-McCrory Funeral Home, Fayette City, PA.  Additional viewing will take place Thursday, August 27 from 10 to 11 am in the Marion Presbyterian Church.

Funeral Services will be held at the church starting at 11:00 am with Rev. Beth Lynn Nelson and Rev. Donald R Jones, Jr. co- officiating.

Interment will follow in the Belle Vernon Cemetery, Belle Vernon, PA.www.eleymccroryfuneralhome.com

Keeping in compliance with the County and State Mandate, guests are asked to please abide by personal protective guidelines, masks MUST be worn, social distancing must still be maintained and to please minimize your visit to allow other family and friends to pay their respects to the family since we are still limited to 25 guests in the funeral home at a given time.
