Helen (Scullion) Backstrom

Helen Scullion Backstrom, of Fayette City, PA, died peacefully on May 30, 2014 at Shenago Presbyterian senior Center, New Wilmington,Pa.

She was born May 28, 1928 in Fayette City,Pa , daughter of the late Wilbert Scullion and the late Jean Stark Scullion. Helen was a member of the Fayette CIty American Legion Auxiliary,Fayette City United Methodist Church, where she served as treasurer,Pianist,choir member, and loyal member. Helen was a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. Her kind spirit will live on in our hearts.

She is survived by son and daughter-in laws, James and Susan Backstrom, Don and Karen Backstrom, son, Jack Backstrom. She was loved by all, especially her six grandchildren, Anika Anger, Lt. Ike Backstrom, Maggie Backstrom, Sara Backstrom, Luke Backstrom, and Ian Backstrom.

She was preceded in death by husband, Donald W Backstrom and brother William Scullion

Friends will be received Sunday, June 01, 2014 from noon to 2 pm 6 to 8 pm in the Eley-McCrory Funeral Home,Inc., 334 Main St., Fayette City, PA. 724-326-5621, www.eleymccroryfuneralhome.com Funeral services will be held Monday, June 2, 2014 at 10:00 am in the funeral home. Interment will follow in the West Newton Cemetery, West Newton, PA.
