Irene (Brody) Pollack

Irene Pollack, 91 years old of Charleroi, PA, died Sunday, January 4, 2015 in Justine's Personal Care Home, Allenport,Pa.

She was born May 8, 1923 in Donora, PA, daughter of the late Michael Brody and the late Anna Mikita Brody. She was a member of Holy Ghost Byzantine Catholic Church, Charleroi, Pa. Irene was retired from Corning Glass Co with 40 years of service.

She is survived by her brother, Michael Brody of Silver Springs, MD. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Pollack; five sisters, Anna Lakatos, Mary Davis, Elizabeth Hela, Helen Fincik, and Margaret Brody.

Friends will be received Sunday, January 11, 2015, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm in the Eley-McCrory Funeral Home,Inc., 334 Main St., Fayette City, PA. 724-326-5621, www.eleymccroryfuneralhome.com. Prayers will be said Monday, January 12, 2015 at 10:00 am in the funeral home followed by Divine Liturgy at 10:30 am in the Holy Ghost Byzantine Catholic Church, Charleroi, Pa. with Rev. Fr. James Ragan as celebrant. Interment will follow in the St. Michaels Cemetery, Donora, PA. Parastas Services will be held Sunday evening at 7:30 pm in the funeral home.
