James R Nichols, 97 of Brownstown, Fayette City, PA, passed away peacefully, Saturday, April 29, 2017 in his residence..

He was born January 24, 1920 in Pricedale, PA, son of Benjamin Nichols  and Almeda Peroney Nichols.
Jim was a US Army, Air Fore Veteran of WW II, assigned to the 261st Army Air Force Base unit. He was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Allenport Plant.

He is survived by his wife, Grace Louise Trader Nichols; step-son, Carl L Trader and wife Lonnie Kay of Charleroi, Pa.; brother, Emerson Nichols and wife Thelma of Fayette City, sister, Almeda Sala of Mt. Lebanon and sister-in-law, Dr. Mary Alice Brightwell.  Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 1st wife June Brightwell Nichols on March 13, 1978; brother, Norman Nichols; two sisters, Adell Hussar and Ida Hawker.

Family and Friends will be received Tuesday, May 2, 2017 from 5 to 8  pm in the Eley-McCrory Funeral Home,inc., 334 Main St., Fayette City, PA. (724)-326-5621, www.eleymccroryfuneralhome.com.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 3, 2017 in the funeral home at 11:00 am with Pastor Vann Walchock officiating.  Interment will follow in the Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Fayette City, PA.
