Janice Ann Martin

Janice Ann Martin, 70 of Vanderbilt, Flatwoods, PA, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, January 31, 2016 in UPMC, Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa. surrounded by her loving family.

She was born February 23, 1945 in Norfolk, VA, daughter of Lester Clayton Martin and Nana Mae Cooper Martin.

She was a faithful and devoted member of the Church of the Open Door, Connellsville, Pa. Janice was always faithful in pointing people to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Over her lifetime she was a caregiver to many people. Janice gave encouragement to many people by means of phone calls and cards to share in their time of need.

She is survived by five brothers; Bruce Martin and wife Vera of Myersdale, Pa., Roger Martin and wife Sandy of Stewart, TN., Daniel Martin of Perryopolis, Pa. Rev. Dr. Carl T Martin and wife Beth of Clearwater, FL. and Lester C Martin, II of Star Junction. Also survived by 17 nieces and nephews, 12 great nieces and nephews and a very close friend Billie Koontz.

She was preceded in death by her parents, father, Lester Clayton Martin on March 1, 2003, mother, Nana Mae Cooper Martin on July 19, 1992, sister-in-law, Lana K Martin on October 15, 2015 and one nephew at birth.

Family and Friends will be received Wednesday, February 3, 2016 from 7 to 9 pm and Thursday, February 4, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm in the Eley/McCrory Funeral Home, Inc., 334 Main St., Fayette City, Pa. 724-326-5621, www.eleymccroryfuneralhome.com. Additional viewing will take place Friday, February 5, 2016 from 11 am to 1 pm in the Church of the Open Door, 1 Church Ave., Connellsville, Pa. 15425. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm in the Church with Rev. Harry Powell and Rev. Dr. Carl T Martin co-officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Washington Cemetery, Perryopolis, PA.
