Joseph E. Alberts, Jr. 78 of Grindstone, PA, passed away Wednesday, may 8, 2013 in Mon Valley Hospital, Carroll Twp.,Pa. .
He was born October 22, 1934 in Newboro, PA, son of the late Joseph E Alberts Sr. and the late Bertha Rich Alberts. He was a member of Pleasant View Presbyterian Church, Smock, Pa. Joseph was retired from US Steel Irvin works where he was employed for 37 years. He was a US Air Force veteran.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years Sandra L Barricklow Alberts; three sons, Joseph E (Jay) Alberts III of Star Junction, David Scott Alberts of Star Junction, and Benjamin T Alberts of Fayette City; one precious granddaughter, Sashua Alberts of Charleroi; sister, Dolores Snyder & husband Raymond of Mt. Pleasant Mills,Pa.; brother, Edward Alberts & wife Patty of East Lake,OH. Also survived by his devoted companion, Boston terrier, Dexter and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Julia Fronczek.
Friends will be received Friday, May 10, 2013 from 2 - 8 pm in the Eley-McCrory Funeral Home,Inc. 334 Main Street, Fayette City, PA.724-326-5621,www.eleymccroryfuneralhome.com. A Memorial Service will be held Friday at 8:00 pm in the funeral home with Rev. Keith Conover officiating.
