Mervin T Franks

Mervin T Franks, 71 of Smithton, PA, passed away peacefully from cancer on Tuesday,  October 17, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.

He was born February 5, 1952 in Uniontown, PA, son of George M Franks  and Thelma Moats Franks.

He retired from West Penn Power as an electrical engineer.  He was a US Army veteran, served as a Connellsville Police officer at one time and belonged to SASS, Single Action Shooters Society and was a life member of the NRA.

He is survived  by his loving wife, Maxine Vivio Franks, daughter, Valerie Lynn Franks of Kittanning, son, Mervin Thomas Franks, Jr.of Seattle, WA, daughter, Laura Walters and husband George of Ruffsdale, daughter, Jennifer Zahrobsky and husband Mark of West Newton, daughter, Angela Peden and  husband Matt of Ruffsdale, daughter Gina Denitti and Scott Bronson of West Newton; sister, Elaine Messenger and husband Jeff of Masontown, brother, Douglas Franks of Georgia, nine grandchildren, Brandon Berry,  Hannah Zahrobsky, Abby Zahrobsky, Madison Peden, Summer Bronson, Elijiah Bronson, Marianna Bronson, Andy  Walters and Nikki Corley, great-granddaughter, Jocelyn Corley, great-grandson, Rory Corley; nephew Scott Franks.

He was preceded in death by his parents

Friends will be received Friday, October 20, 2023 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm in the Eley-McCrory Funeral Home, Fayette City, PA.   www.eleymccroryfuneralhome.com 

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 10:00 am in the funeral home.

Interment will follow in the Olive Branch Cemetery, Rostraver Township, PA 15012.
