Richard H Burton, Sr., 89 of Jefferson Twp., Perryopolis, PA, passed away Friday, April 18, 2014 in Guardian Angel Personal Care Home, Perryopolis, Pa. surrounded by his family.
He was born October 5, 1924 in Grindstone, PA, son of the late George Burton and the late Goldie Mae Parker Burton. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Fayette City and a US Navy veteran of WW II.
He is survived his wife, Lyda Russell Burton,; son, Richard Burton Jr of Jefferson Twp., daughter, Darla Burton Wauchter and husband Richard of Pittsburgh,Pa, daughter, Gale Tomko of Perryopolis,Pa., daughter, Debra Yanke and husband Edward of Pittsburgh,Pa., son, James Burton and wife Traci of Perryopolis,Pa.; 6 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Dolores Beers and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Monday, April 21, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm, Tuesday from 10 am to 11 am in the Eley-McCrory Funeral Home, Inc., 334 Main St., Fayette City, PA.724-326-5621,www.eleymccroryfuneralhome.com. Memorial Service will take place at 11:00 am Tuesday, with Rev. Wayne Boring officiating.
