Ross Russell, 92 of Jefferson Twp., Fayette City, Pa., passed away Thursday, October 3, 2019 in Los Angeles, California.
He was born October 18, 1926 in Gillespie, PA, son of William L Russell and Jessie May Smith Russell.
Ross was a US Army veteran of World War II having served in the European theater.
He was a member of the Brightwell-Daughtery American Legion Post# 484, Fayette City, Pa and served several terms as its President and was a member of Tri-County Masonic Lodge # 252. Ross also served two terms as Jefferson Township Supervisor.
He is survived by his daughter, Sharon Russell and her wife Marlene Zuccaro of Los Angeles, CA., son, Ross H Russell and his husband Benjamin Ramirez, of San Diego, CA; his sister-in-law, Bernadette Russell and many niece and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Lola Boord Russell in 2015 and his son Scott W Russell in1983; ten brothers; Alfred,Carl,Howard,Elmer,Herbert,Ernest, Samuel,Lewis,Park and Richard; two sisters, Grace Todd and Sara Yakim.
Family and Friends will be received Thursday, October 10, 2019 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm in the Eley-McCrory Funeral Home,Inc., 334 Main St., Fayette City, PA. www.eleymccroryfuneralhome.com
Funeral Services will be held Friday, October 11, 2019 in the funeral home at 11:00 am with Pastor Joshua Scully officiating.
Interment, with Military Honors accorded by Perry VFW Post # 7023, will follow in the Belle Vernon Cemetery, Belle Vernon, PA.
American Legion Post 484 will conduct services Thursday evening at 7:00 pm in the funeral home.
Tri-County Lodge, F & AM # 252 will conduct services Thursday evening at 7:30 pm in the funeral home.
