It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ruby Cales Davis on November 17, 2025 at 97 years, after a full and happy life. She was born in Alma, Arkansas on April 28,1928 to the late James and Dora Cales. She lived in Fayette City, PA for 61 years before relocating to Assisted Living in Myrtle Beach SC, near her daughter Candy Kuchinic. She was predeceased by her husband Curtis Davis after 58 years of marriage, her daughter-in-law Karen Davis and her grandson Kevin Davis. She leaves behind her daughter Candy Kuchinic (husband Mark Kuchinic), sons Danny Davis (wife Nancy Davis) and Ronald Davis (wife Ruth Davis), along with six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, who cherished her family above all else. Ruby lived life to the fullest. Her infectious smile and happy nature were contagious to whomever she was with. Always the life of the party, Ruby loved making people laugh. She was quite the athlete as well, playing softball in her 50’s, bowling 202 at the age of 80 and sled riding in her 80’s with the grandkids. Ruby always had her bags packed to be ready at a moment’s notice to make sure she never missed a good time with family. She never met a stranger, talking to anyone she was around.
Ruby attended First Christian Church in Fayette City for over 50 years and looked forward to seeing her church family nearly every week.
Family and friends will be received on Monday, November 24th from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm and 8pm at Eley-McCrory Funeral Home, 334 Main Street, Fayette City, PA 15438. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 25th at First Christian Church of Fayette City (240 2nd Street, Fayette City, PA 15438) at 10am. Interment will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park (132 Twin Hills Rd., Brier Hill, PA 15415) immediately after the service.
