Sheridan Lee Livingstone, 61, Daisytown
Sheridan lived with and shared a promise: that one day, because of Jesus, he would be made whole. His family was with him as his promise was fulfilled April 4, 2016.
Born a preemie on August 2, 1954, in Charleroi, to Sheridan and Jean (Lorinchak) Livingstone, Sherd would prove early on he was a fighter, a characteristic that would aide him later in life. He showed tremendous art ability as a child that flourished with age. He spent a lot of his time painting murals and art all around the Valley-in school and store windows, at Crystal Pool and other businesses, and many commissioned pieces that still hang in people’s homes.
He graduated from Belle Venron Area High School, class of 1972. He then briefly attended Nyack College and later excelled at The Art Institute of New Kensington.
Sheridan’s promising art career was cut short by a devastating automobile crash, resulting in permanent, traumatic brain injury. Although the injury stole much of his beloved art ability, it never stole his immense love for people and, more importantly, his love for Christ. Throughout all of the struggles and problems outside of his control, Sherd was constantly seen with a smile on his face and joy in his heart. He carried a song on his lips and could often be heard singing praises to the Lord. He brought countless smiles and laughter to so many and never knew a stranger, as he considered them all friends. He loved a good party and being with family and friends is what brought his heart so much joy. Many of his days were spent at Vestaburg Partial with people he came to know and love as a second family. Sherd often used his own life and loss as testimony to others in need of hope. A fervent prayer warrior, he would pray over his loved ones by name each day and night and thought nothing of stopping to pray wherever and whenever someone was in need.
His kind soul and exemplary faith continue to serve as an encouragement to those he has left behind: his beloved mom; Jean Livingstone, his sister; Jan and her husband Doug Booth, and their son; Andrew, with whom he shared his home and life for 26 years, his brother; Tim and his wife Daphne (Peep), and their son; Tim and his wife Kerry, with whom he loved attending Christian concerts, his beloved; Uncle Ed and Aunt Marianne Lorinchak, and the apple of his eye, his four daughters and their families: Michelle (Shelli) and David Johnson and their children; Hannah, Elle and Leighton; Amanda (Mandy) and Daryl Yount and their children; Brayden, Savannah, Sophia and Ava Grace; Erica and Scott Croyle and their children Madison and Aiden; Andrea (Ang) and Colby Perrotta and their children; Joie and Jacoby. He was dearly loved and is greatly missed by his furry companions, Daisy and Libby. He is also survived by many other aunts, uncles, cousins, and beloved friends.
A private celebration of his life was held April 5, 2016. In continuing his love for Christ and family, memorial contributions may be made in his honor to: The Gideons International or to Northumberland Christian School, 351 5th Street, Northumberland, PA 17857.
