Wayne Anderson Obituary

Wayne R. Anderson, 93 of Jefferson Twp., Fayette City, PA, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2026.

He was born May 26, 1932 in Van Voorhis, PA, son of the late Harry Anderson  and AudreyRankin Anderson .

He was one of twelve children.  Wayne spent 75 years in his home, 71 of those was with his late wife Dorothy Salyers Anderson.  

He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict.  He retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Allenport Plant  He loved cutting grass on his riding mower and did so up till three years ago.  Wayne also loved playing his harmonica, listening and singing with hymns on CD's everyday.  He enjoyed worshiping at Little Redstone Presbyterian Church with his wonderful and loving Pastor Josh Scully.  Everytime Josh would visit he got a giant smile on his face and greeted him with a handshake.  His daughter would like to give special thanks to his loving and supportive neighbor of 15 years, Amy.  Also to his other great neighbor, George.  Heartfelt thanks to WVU Medicine, Uniontown and Harmon House, Mt. Pleasant for their exceptional care and support.  

He is survived by his children; son,David Anderson and wife Cindy of Carnegie, daughter, Gail Strickler and husband Donald of Fayette City, grandson, James Anderson and wife Shelly of Washington, grandson, Donald J Strickler and wife Victoria of Texas, grandson, Corre Strickler of Fayette City, great-grandchildren, Peyton and Connor Strickler of Texas..

Friends will be received Tuesday, February 10, 2026 from 3 to 8 pm in the Eley-McCrory Funeral Home, Fayette City, PA.  www.eleymccroryfuneralhome.com

Additional viewing will take place on Wednesday from 9 to 10 am in the Little Redstone Presbyterian Church.  Funeral services will be held at 10 am in the church with Pastor Josh Scully officiating.

Interment will take place in the Little Redstone Methodist Cemetery, Fayette City, Pa.
