William E Lester

William E. Lester, 83 of Brownsville, PA, passed away Sunday, September 7, 2025 in Hillside Manor Personal Care Home, Uniontown, Pa.

He was born March 22, 1942 in Jefferson Township, PA, son of Frank Lester  and Bertha Lancaster Lester.  

He was a member of  West Bend United Methodist Church.  He was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Allenport Plant.  The family would like to thank Mon Valley Oncology, staff at Hillside Manor and OSTPA Hospice for their care of Bill.  

He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Sunny Lester, brother, Clifford Lester of New Eagle and sister, Thelma Sveda of Fayette City; special nephews, Michael Lester, Eric Smith, Michael Sveda, John Sved and Russell Sveda and special niece Tammy Jackson.  Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.    

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Frank and Harold Lester.

Friends will be received Wednesday, September 10, 2025 from 4 to 8 pm in the Eley-McCrory Funeral Home, Fayette City, PA. www.eleymccroryfuneralhome.com

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, September 11, 2025 at 10:00 am in the funeral home with Rev. Frank Philpott officiating.

Interment will follow in the LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, PA 15415.

In lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
